Romania has a rich history of monarchy since 1881, as the Royal family has been involved in the development of culture, history and education.

Discover Bucharest and the historical places of the Romanian capital. The Royal Palace, the current National Art Museum of Romania comprises the Throne Hall, The Royal Living Room or the Voievodes Stairs, decorated by art works of famous Romanian artists such as Nicolae Tonița, Ștefan Popescu, Ion Theodorescu Sion, Arthur Verona.

The Cotroceni Museum served as the first official residence of the Romanian Royal Family starting from 1881 with King Carol I of Romania. The Palace features a mixed of arhitectural styles inspired by Brancovenesc style of the Romanian Reinessance. The Elisabeth Palace is the current official residence of Margareta of Romania. 

Sinaia is a pitoresque town in Carpathian Mountains with huge historical signifiance due to the presence of Peleș and Pelișor Castle. The Peleș Castle was the summer residence of the Romanian Royal Family and can be admired for it`s remarkable collection of art, the neo renaissance arhitecture and the beatifull gardens.

The Citadel of Alba Carolina and the Coronation Cathedral are located in the heart of Transylvania. The construction of the Citadel begin under the rule of Habsburg Empress Maria Theresa. The Citadel is the site where the Great Union of 1918 was proclaimed leading to the unification of Transylvania with Romania. The Cathedral witnessed the coronation of King Ferdinand I and Queen Mary in 1921.

Build in 13th century the Curtea de Argeș Monastery is a master piece of Romanian bizantine and wallachian arhitecture. The monastery became the Royal Necropolis as King Carol I and Queen Elisabeth (Carmen Silva) were buried in the Cathedral in 1914 and 1916.

Enjoy the Transalpina scenic mountain road, the highest road in Romania with breath taking panoramic views, reaching 2145 meters altitude.

Turda salt mine is the most spectacular natural tourism destination in the world and together with transilvanian wines will make your trip unforgettable.

Cluj-Napoca, the city of UNTOLD music festival, will take you to the future. Walking further we are going to bring to light the stone houses in Chidea, the Romanian village similar to Alberobello from Italy.

In Gherla you will find out the Armenian stories and you will taste the "hurut soup" admiring more than 40 baroque buildings. As we cross from Sic (the Transilvanian Delta) to Maramures County we open the gate to the most vivid villages in Europe.

The people in Maramures keep in their hearts, in their houses and their folk costumes the original customs that defines them as communities. We are going to step in traditional houses from Poiana Botizii and Poienile Izei and enjoy traditional meals as peasants did in the past.
