A whole world in one place! Dor Travel went around the world in ... 3 days at the World Travel Market, within the ExCeL London center. Tourism and destinations from all continents were impeccably represented at the largest B2B (business-to-business) trade fair in the world, held in London between November 7 and 9! We are proud to have been in the right place at the right time to fix our exact time in tourism. I gained wings! The world trend is in the direction of active tourism, of combining culture with tradition and gastronomy with crafts, of promoting historical heritage with unique experiences that can be found today in communities! Dor Travel goes in the perfect direction of "tailor made" offers, adapting them to the profile of individual clients or groups! We are enthusiastic and have a big smile on our faces. We are small enough to care and big enough to be competitive (translation from a promotional material I received at the fair - see photo). November 6, 17 degrees Celsius, sun, autumn scenery, old and new photos, Gherla tourist destination, community stories, Audio Story of the City, Gherla City app, open people, warm atmosphere, food tasting from the local gastronomy. This is how we describe yesterday, with a smile on our faces. A begining! From 12.00 to 18.00 we filled the space in the courtyard of the Agency with good and wise words, laughter, music and dance! Visit ARMENOPOLIS We made better friendships and made partnerships for the tourist offer of Gherla. After this event in which we reunited the historical past with the experiences of the present, we have a lot of inspiration to create the most beautiful offers and routes that puts Gherla on the tourist map of Romania! INFO TRIP - the Danube Route

For 10 days we covered the Danube route with electric bikes, 1000 km from the source of the Danube - Black Forest in Germany to Vienna, Austria. It was a test tour and next year we will organise together with Dor Travel, a one-week tour (approximately 350 km), on the most difficult part of the route that accompanies the course of the Danube in Germany and Austria. We were impressed by the people - the "Danube people", with their boundless respect for the gift received from nature: the Danube. They keep the water course clean and well-kept, like their own garden. The pride that they belong to these places is evident from the names of the localities, most of which have added the name Donau...and in discussions with them, most ask you: "So this part of the Danube is the most beautiful?"...And yes, the Danube she is very beautiful wherever you look at her!

CAMP in MARAMUREȘ 1

We are in full activity in Maramureș Camp 1. The children are extraordinary! Dor Travel has amazing partners and support from the local community! Thanks to Maramu' Lakeside, Sub Stejar, Viorel Coroian, Chira Art for hosting, tasty meals, workshops and hiking guide. The children's words say it all: "I could stay at least for another 3 months"!

We organised the kids camp for school children from Diosig at Podina Resort in Ungureni, Maramureș. 55 children were accompanyed by their teachers and had a great time with Dor Travel, full of activities, in a fairy-tale place. We thank the Heks/Eper Romania Foundation and Diosig School.

On June 24 and July 3, Dor Travel participated in the last days of Lavanda Lola Fest 2022. We are in a wonderful setting, with an exhibition of traditional clothes and painting workshops!

DOR of BIKING in Apuseni and slept in a tent

Adventurous MTB tour in Apuseni! The first day of the tour took place on gravel and grass roads, on a route with a length of 35 km and a total elevation of 1200 m. The route was continued through Padurea Sloboda, Ramet, Bradesti, Valea Poienii, next to Raven`s Nest, with camping in a glamping tent near Vanatarile Ponorului, in a fantastic viewpoint! We paid a visit to Vanatarile Ponorului. The next day, Sunday, June 12, 2022, we set off on a new adventure discovering fairy-tale places, with houses covered with straw, where simple people live. The route included places such as Dupa Deal-Macaresti-Barlesti Catun-Cojocari-Valea Barnii-Barlesti-Valea Tupilor-Mogos-Valea Alba-Poieni-Lupulesti-Bucium, 45 km and a total ascent of 1100m. Monday, June 13, 2022, we performed a 25 km MTB route on offroad and paved road with 1000 m total ascent, next to the colorful Geamana Lake, from which the tower of the old flooded church can be seen, and during the trip we admired the Motesti villages and the mountain landscapes of the Rosia Montana area.

On Friday, June 3rd, Dor Travel travelled dressed in ie with the 10th grade students from the Ana Ipătescu High School in Gherla! We told about successful jobs, about who they are and what are the needs on the labour market, we stopped in Ungureni where the hosts welcomed us in the wonderful space of the Podina Resort and we discovered the secrets of the traditions and the local people in Rogoz, Maramures, Romania at the museum house next to the UNESCO heritage Church! I also gave homework for thought and reflection!

DOR to RETURN in the childhood

We're still daydreaming after 10 hours of playing the Childhood Journey event. This year we celebrated  June 1st in Gherla, at the headquarters of the Dor Travel Agency. You can see how it turned out in the pictures below. Bread and pizza workshops, sensory workshops, plasteline workshops, playground, music and lots of good cheer. Dor Travel travels in Andalusia, Spain. We are documenting a circuit for the fall of 2022. The south of Spain tells a story of lots of sun, sea and ocean in emerald colours, rich historical heritage, diverse civilisations, lush nature, extensive olive and orange crops, special wines with nut flavors, fiesta and processions on an impressive scale in all communities, flamenco shows, with a lot of emotion, landscapes with enchanting panoramas, well-being, long walks on foot or by bike, green in dozens of shades as you won't find anywhere in the month of April, culture and famous artists, white buildings, cobblestone mountain paths, rock villages and fortresses conquered by rulers, myths, but also decisive moments in history about the division of the world into various periods. Over 20,000 steps per day, 130 km walked through Málaga, Montilla, Cordoba, Seville, Carmona, Cádiz, Gibraltar, Algeciras, Jimena de la Frontera, Ronda, Setenil de las Botegas, Marbella. We are preparing a new thematic evening Longing for Spain, in which we will conquer you with stories about the places we passed through. Soon!
